65 years ago, Jeannine Manuel created l'École Active Bilingue to fulfil the mission she had set for herself in the aftermath of the war: to work for international understanding.
Through a bilingual education, the mixing of cultures, and constant pedagogical innovation, international understanding is achieved at the school. More than 15,000 children have had the tremendous opportunity to benefit from this education and, as adults, live all over the world and advance the cause of international understanding.
Tuition fees and grants awarded by the Ministry of Education, the region, the department and the city, are sufficient to balance the accounts. It is the contributions of parents, alumni, companies (benefiting from the tax deductions in force in France, the United States and in most European countries) that make it possible to support the initiatives of the School.
The Jeannine Manuel Foundation was created in January 2004 under the auspices of the Fondation de France.
